Gracias Once Again!!!!!
I have to thank new and old friends for making Mad About Mambo another fun and successful evening! It was another great time on Saturday night. First of all, I have to give props to my DJ Ray Colon. He's always good but OMG!!! He burned the roof off the other night! The ONLY complaint I kept getting is that the music was SO HOT that people couldn't stop dancing and they weren't going to be able to move the next day!!! Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! Of course my friends who always help me out, Cindy and Daphne were there working hard for me. My dear Debbie had a family emergency and STILL had her brother come all the way over from Brooklyn to drop off all the snacks, drinks and change for me. And of course Robert and his friend Timothy from the church helped tremendously with set-up, clean up and at the drink bar. And Ray's crew, Ernie helping him and his girlfriend Vanessa REALLY pitched in to help me get things together for the night. It was great to have mambo celebrities there like David Melendez showing support. Lilly, Michelle and J from Young Ambition fame stopped by. It's always a joy to have Palladium dancers Mike & Elita Terrace, international juror Frank Perry and all of their wonderful dancing friends present. Gus Adams and the Maganette crew were of course, dancing up a storm. It's always a treat to see some of my sexy dance contemporaries like Lucy Kerman, Paula and Pat showing how to shake it. And of course the IMPRESSIVE, talented young crowd like some of the Piel Canela folks, Santo Rico crew and Karisma Dancers. The young set rockin' the house!!! I even got to meet one of my new MySpace "friends" Pretty Tony was there to check out the festivities. Hopefully when I'm better and dancing again,Tony we'll get to dance! And Judy, one of my former students FINALLY made it and had a ball!! I do believe she'll be back! The show, as always was a crowd pleaser. We had a powerful opening with JR Entertainment giving us a smooth number. Then Greg and Alex of La Pasion Dance Company (formerly with HeartBreak Boyz and Side St. Kids respectively) showed us they are all grown up with a sexy routine. And finally Howie and Pat of Lorenz Latin Dance Studio in Glendale, Queens brought us a tour de force with their student team Mambo Clasico with EIGHT couples burning the floor on the closing number. All and all another FANTABULOUS night. Thankyou everyone. I hope you all had a lot of fun and I hope everyone and more of you come to the next Mad About Mambo on Saturday February 17th to be MY Valentine!! Your Mambo Mama, Abbey
